Good to Know

New to physical therapy?

Two quick answers before you book your first visit.

What is Physical Therapy?

Physical therapy helps you recover movement, strength, and confidence after pain, injury, or surgery, without relying on medication or unnecessary procedures. Your first visit is a full evaluation. From there, your therapist builds a plan of care around your specific goals, using hands-on treatment, targeted exercise, and education about your condition.

As you improve, the plan progresses with you until you're back to the activities that matter, whether that's your job, your sport, or keeping up with your family.

Who is a physical therapist?

At La Verne Physical Therapy, every physical therapist is a licensed movement expert holding a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree. Earning that title takes a graduate degree in physical therapy, a national licensure exam, and training that continues throughout their careers.

Their job is to find the cause of your problem, treat it, and teach you how to keep it from coming back.

Conditions

Common reasons people come in

Tap a condition to learn more. Not sure whether physical therapy is right for your problem? Call and ask. We'll tell you honestly.

Low back pain
The most common reason people see a physical therapist. We find the movements that provoke your pain, calm it down, and rebuild a strong, confident back.
Neck pain & headaches
Neck stiffness often refers pain into the head and shoulder blade. Treatment combines hands-on care with posture and strengthening work.
Sciatica
Leg pain, numbness, or tingling from an irritated nerve in the low back. Most cases improve with guided movement and do not need surgery.
Rotator cuff & shoulder pain
From pinching with overhead reach to cuff tears and frozen shoulder. We restore mobility first, then rebuild strength.
Knee pain
Kneecap pain, meniscus irritation, tendon problems, and arthritis. Treatment targets the hip, knee, and ankle together.
Hip pain
Groin, buttock, or outer hip pain with walking, stairs, or sitting. We address mobility, strength, and how you load the joint.
Ankle sprains
Proper rehab restores balance and strength, and greatly lowers the chance of spraining the same ankle again.
Plantar heel pain
Sharp heel pain with your first steps, often called plantar fasciitis. Calf and foot strengthening plus footwear guidance gets you walking comfortably.
Tennis & golfer's elbow
Tendon overload at the elbow from gripping and repetitive work. Progressive loading is the proven fix.
Arthritis
Exercise is one of the best proven treatments for arthritic joints. We help you stay strong and active with less pain.
Post-operative rehab
Structured recovery after surgery, paced to your surgeon's protocol and your healing timeline.
Balance & dizziness
Vestibular and balance retraining for vertigo, unsteadiness, and fall prevention.
Sports injuries
From sprains and strains to overuse injuries. Criteria-based rehab gets you back to your sport with confidence.
Work & posture strain
Aches that build up over a workday. We treat the irritated tissue and fix the setup and habits that overload it.
